Activities from our group this Summer and Fall include: We received a grant from ACEP to produce high quality ultrasound education videos in both Spanish and English. Partners on this project include EM:RAP, Project Semilla, and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Watch our promotional video below: Awards ceremony at UCLA-OV graduation in June. We celebrated the graduation of our fellows, Drs. Steph Tseeng and Pablo Aguilera. Our golden probe award winners were Drs. Sara Crager and Jada Roe, who are off pursuing fellowships in critical care and ultrasound, respectively.   We led the California ACEP chapter annual ultrasound course for the second year in a row, in LA in June. In addition to our UCLA-OV group, we had Drs. Chris Fox (UCI), Tarina Kang (USC), and Virag Shah (UCSD) lend their ultrasound brilliance to the course.  Dr. Alan Chiem participated in the AIUM Undergraduate Medical Education Forum in June, giving his talk on Show Me the Evidence: Literature Update on Ultrasound in Medical Education: We sent our first UCLA-OV team “Torsed Besties,” led by Dr. Steph Tseeng, to SAEM Sonogames in San Diego, May. Team members were Drs. Stephanie Brenner, Caleb Canders, Brandon Firestone, and Josh Novak. Also at the same conference, Dr. Chiem moderated a session on medical student ultrasound with panelists including Drs. Chris Fox, David Bahner, Uwe Blackstock, Viam Dinh, and Zach Soucy.  |
