MSK Ultrasound Workshop for Medical Students

In collaboration with the Geffen School of Medicine and Harbor UCLA Emergency Medicine, we held the third ultrasound workshop of the year for first year medical students. We taught musculoskeletal ultrasound of the shoulder, posterior elbow, and hand. Our instructors included EM residents from UCLA/OV-UCLA and Harbor-UCLA, as well as a senior UCLA medical student. In total, 165 first year medical students were instructed in small hands-on groups over three days. We have plans to expand ultrasound education in the medical school curriculum for the following academic year.
